From Library Journal

The weekend hacker looking for a quick fix for an ailing golf swing won't find it in this solid, detailed instructional by Price, a leading money winner on the PGA Tour. Practice, study, and perseverance are his keys to better golf. Offering lessons learned over his own professional career, Price analyzes the components of the golf swing in detail, identifying benchmarks common to all consistent swings. His main theme is that practice and study can make any golfer "less of a thinker and more of a player." Among the photographs are two sequences showing the drastic difference in Price's swing in 1981?at the beginning of his professional career?and 1994, the year he won the British Open and PGA Championship. Also included are drills for developing various aspects of an effective swing and lists of key instructional points. A solid, no-nonsense golf instructional for the player willing to put the time in.?Peter Ward, Lindenhurst Memorial Lib., West Islip, N.Y.Copyright 1997 Reed Business Information, Inc.

n Hogan in the 1950s has a dominant player so thoroughly addressed golf's central enigma: how to develop and repeat an effective swing, the only way any player can hope to truly improve.

In the early '90s, after years of struggle and determination, Nick Price emerged as the world's finest golfer,"striking the ball," as Ben Crenshaw observed, "as well as anyone since Ben Hogan or Byron Nelson."  From his childhood in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), through many seasons on the European tour, to his PGA Championship and British Open victories, Price's abiding keynote has been perseverance, and his passion the art and science of the swing.

For players at all levels, Price now reveals the game's essential elements -- from grip and set-up and downswing, to the short game and effective putting -- in both theory and practice.  Drawing on his own influences, remarkable experiences, and intense study, his program combines both athletic and

I have read quite a few golf books (by Jack Nicklaus, etc.) but this book was really great. I have been playing golf since 1969 and I have had a problem with hitting the ball to the right. This book finally showed the weak and strong grip and I changed my grip so it was stronger and now am hitting the ball straight (and sometimes even with a slight draw). I really like the way the book was written, namely that a player can always work on his golf swing, and try to improve various aspects of it, just as Nick Price has done throughout his career. This book is definitely worth reading for anyone who wishes to improve his golf game.

I highly recommend "The Swing" by Nick Price. For a couple of years, it seemed Nick knocked down the flagstick with every shot. His journal entries in the book are fascinating. The " Pre-Set" drill helped me tremendously. I think I was playing my best golf ever during the time I was working diligently on that one drill. I loved looking at the before and after pictures of Nick's swing. Like night and day... Buy it .. hit 800 balls a day.. and your scores will get better... guaranteed !!

Great for a beginner. Got special help on grip.

Nick Price is a rare one. He's one of the hardest working golfers out there and he's one of the nicest guys out there! This is a great book that follows the evolution of his golf swing and how he did a total make- over of his swing. Include s a lot of David Ledbettor tips and drills. A great golf book!

Book was in great shape. Very happy with it.

It's like a "what not to do book" to be a better player. Prices swing really improved over the years and he shows you how he did it.

Great book

This book greatly improved my swing. After reading several key chapters in this book, and adopting the advice given, my ball striking is significantly better than it was previously.Nick Prices advocates for a wide, balanced swing with "quiet" leg action. For me, this produced a more powerful and accurate swing that has a shorter backswing. I also found that my hips, knees, back are much more comfortable with the Nick Price swing, compared to the "leg swing" that other instructors promote.I am convinced that the swing taught in this book is a great one for amateur/weekend golfers because it is very simple and produces a very consistent motion. Note that if you are trying to win long-drive contests this swing ISN'T the one that you want to use; however, if you are looking for a swing that is going to get you onto fairways and greens (and not lose many golfballs), look no further than this book.

My 18 month old son really loved his Roger Priddy First 100 board books and recently started to enjoy sticker books so we purchased the first 100 First Numbers Colors Shapes sticker book as well as the first words, first animals, and first trucks sticker books. He really does enjoy all of these books. The book has lots of bright pictures with grey outlines mixed in where you can match up a sticker with the outline. The cover says there are over 500 stickers, but keep in mind that includes one full page of small star stickers and several pages of stickers with just words. My son enjoys adding the star stickers to all of the pages almost as much as he does matching up the stickers in the right spot, so for me its not a big deal. What's great about these books is after all of the stickers are used, my toddler still likes going through them and sounding out animals just as he would with any other book. The stickers themselves I don't think are meant to be reusable, but can be carefully peeled off without ripping the page. I would recommend this book.

My toddler loves this book. The stickers can be applied and removed a couple of times before losing their stickiness. Very simple organization, but clear images and nice stickers. Works fine motor skills in peeling the stickers, and helps learn numbers, colors, shapes, matching, and opposites.

My 2 year son loves these sticker books!! They have vivid real life pictures/stickers which captures his attention. Great for working on vocabulary skills and fine motor skills. He can peel the stickers on his own, but does need help locating the page for which to place the sticker. Great interactive activity to do with your little one. The book is small enough to slip into my diaper bag and have on the go for when he is bored at restaurants and great when we’ve been traveling on a plane. I will definitely be adding more of these books to my sons collection

Excellent book and series. this is my second time purchasing, as I used this book with my first child as well. Keeps my two year old entertained for a long time and gets her saying new words. I HIGHLY recommend. Great color, easy to peel stickers, and very engaging for children.

I bought this for my almost 2yr old when we went on a 4hr flight. She absolutely loved the stickers! Though she’s still a bit young to understand the concept of where the stickers go on certain pages, she just had fun putting stickers wherever her heart desired! It kept her completely distracted during takeoff and landing.I would buy this again when she’s a bit older!

My toddler loves stickers. This book has a variety of them: small stars, word strips and large colorful stickers. We're using the book more as an activity book vs a book you read. While the stickers are not designed to be reusable, the pages are slick enough that you can peel off and re-stick. It's helping to develop her fine motor skills to place the stickers in the gray areas. She loves identifying the objects. I bought the other sticker books in the series.

Our family had an 8 hour plane ride. Our 2 year old daughter loved this sticker book. It kept her busy for over and hour, (great for a 2 year old!)We love this series of books at home, so it was fun for her to be able to have a tactile interaction with it. She loved identifying every picture, by name and color. An older child would also enjoy this book. Kids take a sticker from the back, then search for the correct page to stick it to. It is a great busy activity.

My daughter is 2 and loves her sticker book. Yes we learn fine motor but the book teaches so much more. Colors, shapes, objects, opposites, etc. I could go on and on. Before she had no interest in books. This allowed her to engage in the activity and now books are fun. Thank you so much!
