I like that this cookbook basically has an entree and a dessert for each tv show/movie/game but calling them easy recipes is crazy. Most of the recipes have an expensive ingredient that will be difficult to hunt down (real examples from this book include cuttlefish ink, red mullet fish fillets, bream, garni, pigeon, quail eggs, saddles of rabbit, etc.). The recipes sound good and are beautifully plated, but to call them easy is just a lie.My other big problem with the cookbook is that the titles of the recipes are not descriptive and there’s no description as to what you’re making. I’ve included a photo of something called a “Harvey Dent†that appears to be chicken, but even looking at the photo you’re not really clear on what you’re making unless you read through the recipe and all the ingredients. It would be nice if there was a description of what you’re making and maybe a little note connecting how it pertains to the theme.Most of the recipes do sound like they were genuinely inspired by the source material, but a handful are pretty lazy. One of the Harry Potter recipes is for “Bertie Botts†chocolate lava cakes and it’s literally just a chocolate lava cake recipe with a footnote to add a different flavor to each cake without any instructions on how or suggestions on what flavors would pair well with it. The Star Wars dessert is what can best be described as a meringue milkshake with a fake lightsaber stuck in it. This recipe has 45 minutes prep time and 2 hour cook time. For meringue and cream with breadstick dipped in red or blue candy melts stuck in the top.Overall, I’m just disappointed that I won’t be able to make so many of these things because I don’t have access to the ingredients. For a more experienced or adventurous cook these recipes would be really fun, but I feel like they just slapped the word “easy†on the front so more people would be inclined to buy it. If you are a very experienced cook with access to a lot of weird ingredients, I say go for it. If you’re like me and just wanted to try out some fun and easy recipes that happen to be “geeky†then pass.
The recipes weren't really something associated with the shows except in name. Need specialty ingredients for most of the recipes, not things readily available to most people. Not worth the price since can't make most of them without putting in a huge internet order.
Bought this for my daughter's birthday - she LOVES it. Her favorite shows were included in the cookbook. It doesn't get any better than that!

Why would I buy a cookbook online when I can't see a single recipe? I understand the author wants to protect his content, but I need to see 1 or 2 recipes to get an idea of the level of cooking in this book, if ingredients are even available to me where I live, and if the recipes are even worth it at all.
