Lots of high quality photos and explanations of anatomy. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out something I really needed to know, how to identify hilar adenopathy, with the book. On the other hand it taught me many things I had seen in CXRs but didn't fully understand, such as what the azygos lobe is and how it (rarely) appears on CXR. It probably has most of what one needs to understand CXRs-- but since it was missing LAD, it might be missing others, so 4 stars.
Must have introductory book for any first year radiology resident. You will obviously need something a bit more in depth as you progress, but this provides a good framework for you understanding.This book is also a quick easy to understand read for any primary practitioners/residents/medical students looking to brush up on interpretation of chest radiographs.
These books whether used or new always come in perfect condition! I've used them countless times for my NP program and will use them thousands more!
i read this before starting my first chest rotation. it helped a lot with learning how to read chest xrays. the question and answer format makes it very engaging and I find the retention of the material to be higher than normal.it won't teach you about PAP or UIP, but you can read other books for that.highly recommend it for reading before your first chest rotation!
I really like the Dubin EKG text and heard this was similar. It took longer to get through this than Dubin and I think Dubin had more content. This book is still very helpful and could be read early on in med school or as a third year when you'll actually be reading some chest films.
Didn't know what to expect when ordering this book however, I enjoy the fill-in-the-blank format. I'm an anesthetist student reading this book for my 1 day radiology rotation and the beginning is fairly easy to figure out, but it gets more complex after chapter 7. It would be nice if there were more labels on the diagrams and a brief description by the author of the chapter's contents. It can be difficult to decipher what is on the X-ray film in th book. Overall a good book.
Borrowed and read it as an MS4, and now purchased it and read it as a PGY-2... Everyone needs to read before approaching chest xrays as a med student or R1
This product was just as described and worked great for class. I even lent it to a friend who also passed the course.
